This very shiny wormlike creature showed up outside my front door this morning (about 5am). I live in south Florida (Sarasota). I'm not sure what it is because the super pointy end is the head & all of the many photos of the Brahminy Blind snakes I looked at had both end clearly rounded off. None even closely resembled a weird, long, pointy head like this one. Anyway, it's about 3" long & a little wider than a piece of spaghetti (cooked, that is). Thoughts?
Thank you!
CLOSED: Brahminy Blind Snake?
How sure are you that this even is a snake? I can see no useful detail in this image.
I don't know but had fun looking for it.

This link lists a snake as small as a spaghetti, Leptotyphlops carlae, a thread snake/type of blind snake found in Barbados:

I wasn't sure it was a snake originally, but greene33, thank you for posting those links because the photos in the 1st one appear to show that "pointy" head that was throwing me off. So, I think that confirms it... Brahminy Blind Snake it is! Thank you :)
I still have very serious doubts about this identification. The pointy end in the image greene33 provided was the tail, not the head of the snake. If the pointy end of the creature in ncaptiva's image is it's head, it more likely is a leech than a snake - http://aleheads.files.wordpress.com/2013/03/leech.jpg
ncaptiva - next time you see the little critter, let it climb onto your arm and stay there for a while. If it's a leech it won't take you long to figure it out.
You could also try to get some photos that are more clear. Flapdoodle sure knows her stuff, but you gotta give her a little more to work with.
All we have to go by is one slightly out of focus photo. The links I offered are so ncaptiva can do her own comparison.
