CLOSED: Is this gypsy moth on this cherry?

Moorestown, NJ(Zone 6b)

If so, what can I do to protect the tree?

Probably not a gypsy moth. Could be the webbing of the Eastern tent caterpillar.

Minot, ND

See http://www.state.nj.us/dep/parksandforests/forest/community/Gypsy_Moth.htm for some gypsy moth control recommendations. Could also be fall webworm or ugly nest caterpillars.

Thank you!

I think it was fall web worm. I got rid of the bags of larvae using a power washer.
