This came out of my dryer after washing a blanket off my bed. I'm from this Chicago area but just got back from a trip to the Smokey Mountains in Tennessee.
CLOSED: Name this beetle
I'd call it Francis, the headless scarab beetle...
Any more ideas??
It is a scarab beetle, but without being able to see its head and prothorax, I would be very reluctant to attempt a more specific i.d. I will go out on a limb and say it likely is in the subfamily Melolonthinae, that includes the familiar Maybeetles/June bugs...
Gotcha!! Thank you :-)
