Cannot find this moth in my reference books. Any ideas please?
CLOSED: Unidentified moth
Not 100% certain, but this could be Lythria purpuraria, a geometrid known as the purple-barred yellow - http://mihaela7.deviantart.com/art/Lythria-purpuraria-316453941
This species can be highly variable in its color pattern - if you google the Latin name, you will see many examples.
Looks spot on to me, thanks again for your help Flapdoodle
