I was stood in my garden checking out the recent passing comet and felt a "presence" and came face to face with this not so little spider on the wall next to me!. It measured about an inch and a half (including legs). I've never seen a spider like this before. Can anyone please tell me what type of spider this is?
What type of spider is this?!
It might be a male Segestria florentina, a tube web spider. - http://www.wildaboutbritain.co.uk/pictures/showphoto.php/photo/68051/size/big/cat/
They sometimes are found wandering outside of their tube retreat.
