Hi
Is this a fruit fly or some sort of biting fly?
(I found many of these in the house and am trying to find out if they have been biting me).
This is a picture taken using a microscope.
Thanks
Dave
CLOSED: What is this fly?
Appears to be a hump-backed/scuttle fly in the family Phoridae - http://www.serprosan.cl/attachments/Image/Moscas/megscal.jpg
They do not bite; their larvae mostly are scavengers on decomposing organic matter.
Thanks Flapdoodle
I think these came into the house with a box of tomatoes my neighbor left me
