A friend and I found this tiny insect on a book in my basement apartment in Toronto. I get lots of strange insects in the basement but this one stood out. Unlike anything I've seen before. I thought it was a tiny spider however it had antennas, crab like long back legs, not very aggressive just walking around in circle. The closest thing I found that it resembles is a spiny leaf insect, however it was very small and looked almost like a small piece of mould walking around. Sorry for the poor picture, but I am totally obsessed with figuring out what it is! Thanks :)

I can't be 100% certain, but this likely is a young nymph of an assassin bug known as the masked hunter - http://tinylittlelife.org/?p=276 and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Masked_hunter
I agree. Masked hunter nymph. They get covered with dust and it serves as camouflage. One of their favorite foods is bed bugs.
