What could this be!? I'd say it was just over an inch long. Seen in Milwaukee, WI.

An Earwig, perhaps?
Looks like a larva of a ground beetle, general predator on other small arthropods.

It's a Carabidae larvae - larvae of a ground beetle.

The 3 year old had found it and said, "Look, an alligator!" and I didn't know what to correct her with! In her defense, I can see where she could get an alligator from, haha!
