Could anyone identify these little black flies?
They're about 2mm long and longshaped and its about 2 days now they keep showing up, mostly on my frontdoor and surrounding walls.
Thanks in advance.
CLOSED: can anyone id these little black flies?
Cannot see any identifiable details - do they appear to jump or fly if disturbed?
you can push them flat very easy they do not seem disturbed. sometimes one or 2 flies a bit further. when i'm outside near the front door they intend to get on me.they dont bite. they just walk on my legs and arms and i can squeze them.
also i have zoomed in on one of the fotos. hopefully this helps.
Still can't see enough to do more than hazard a guess that they might either be a very small true bug (order Hemiptera) or possibly thrips (order Thysanoptera) - http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/7/7b/Thrips.JPG
that picture looks about right.
search some other pictures and info and i think they are indeed thrips.
thanks a bunch for the fast reaction.
grtz
