This one is so brilliantly red - more red than other Ruby Meadowhawks I've seen. Still I'm pretty sure that's what this is. Am I correct?

That seems likely, but as you likely already know, the whjte-faced and cherry-faced meadowhawks can be very similar in appearance. Complicating this is that New England populations of the cherry-faced meadowhawks can have a tan face (like the ruby) instead of red.
I love those impossible IDs. happens with birds and trees too. There's always gotta be some species that have to cause problems. :)
