Body is dark brown with black bands on the legs, tan/beige hourglass on underside of abdomen, and white-ish spots on top of abdomen. Found in the hollow handle of our small grill on our patio near our garden.
A young female brown widow maybe? My boyfriend also swears he saw a black widow last week also on/in the grill, but he smashed it before I could see it.
We live in Gainesville, FL.
Looks like it to me. If the web is shiny and is made of coarse strings it is most likely some family of widow spider.
