The first one is eating the leaves on my Liatris, and is only about a quarter-inch long. The second colorful fellow didn't seem to be doing anything other than hanging out in this daylily. About a half an inch long.

The one on the left wouldn’t be eating anything, as it is a pupa; it looks very much like a lady beetle pupa –

The one on the right is a leafhopper (family Cicadellidae) .
