Moth Identification Please?

Nahant, MA(Zone 7a)

I'm sure this is going to be a layup for someone out there, but while I'm pretty good with plants I don't even know where to begin with moths.

A friend is asking what kind of moth this is - can anyone help?

Thanks in advance,

Arlyn

Not a moth, but a skipper (family Hesperiidae) - looks like a hoary edge skipper - http://www.butterfliesandmoths.org/species/Achalarus-lyciades

Thank you so much! And thank you for the reference link too.

All the best,

This looks like silver-spotted skipper (Epargyreus clarus ) to me. The hoary edge has an extra spot in the dorsal spot band compared to the silver -spotted. This specimen has an aligned spot band with no extra spot.

As Ann Landers was wont to say, give me 30 lashes with a wet noodle for being too hasty and not double-checking - was trying to get too many tasks accomplished before taking off for the weekend...
