Got bit/stung or whatever twice by two of these bugs in my basement, the bite kinda creeps me out but it doesnt itch it looks like a huge mosquito bite,I killed about 3 of them help me please! I'd like to go back into my basement soon, thanks

Not a hornet, but a wasp in the family Sphecidae (thread-waisted/digger wasps). Are there windows in any of your basement walls? It is possible that these could be grass-carrying wasps (http://ento.psu.edu/extension/factsheets/grass-carrying-wasp); they sometimes will make their nests in the channels in window casements (http://www.flickr.com/photos/58798314@N03/6082739811/).

Yes I was sitting near a window when i got stung, once I got up they fled towards the window. About 5 minutes ago I sprayed my house with home defense so I hope it works
