CLOSED: What kind of caterpillar is this?

Hi all,

There a large number of this kind of caterpillar on my beech trees. Can anyone tell me what they are? Are they destructive? If so, how to treat. Thanks :>)

Unfortunately, these look like gypsy moth caterpillars. See http://www.dcnr.state.pa.us/cs/groups/public/documents/document/dcnr_20026635.pdf for a pdf document on their control.
