Horsefly? It was "bugging" my dog, so the dog bit it. Does it carry disease organism? Will there be any harm to the dog?

It does appear to belong to the family Tabanidae, which includes deer flies and horse flies. Some tabanids are disease vectors - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Horse-fly - but I am uncertain if any of these affect dogs.
