Mequon, WI(Zone 4b)

I thought this was a moth at first, but now I'm not so sure. Anyone know what this is?

Thanks!

This is an insect in the order Megaloptera known as a fishfly - see http://www4.uwm.edu/fieldstation/naturalhistory/bugoftheweek/night-orange.cfm and scroll down to the bottom.

Jeannie63, your Fishfly is in fact the Summer Fishfly - Chauliodes pectinicornis and we have a page for it in BugFiles here: http://davesgarden.com/guides/bf/go/2395/

Perhaps you could add your images to that page,

Ken

When i saw it I thought of Fly Fishing lures my Grandpa had....figured that was way too easy....grin
