CLOSED: Is this a cockroach?

I've been seeing these crawling on the outside wall of my (wood) house, the picket fence, in the sunroom, and a few in the kitchen (which is right next to the sunroom). It looks like a roach to me, but it is active during the day even in the bright sunshine and it is not skittish. I don't see the black markings on its head like a German roach would have, and I don't see any brown bands. As you can see in the pic, it's pretty tiny. Any ideas? I'd like to know what I'm dealing with so I know whether or not to call an exterminator. Thanks!!

Oh, and I'm located in SE Michigan.

I am not that familiar with the roaches but it almost looks like our stinkbugs. NE Wash State.

It definitely is a cockroach; wood cockroaches (Parcoblatta sp.) are common in many parts of the country - see http://www.pbase.com/tmurray74/image/135232146 for an example. Also, the Mediterranean spotted cockroach is a possibility - see http://www.pbase.com/tmurray74/image/89322210

Thanks! Does this kind require an exterminator to prevent infestation or should I be ok sprinkling some diatomaceous earth around the windows and perimeter of the house?

If it is a wood roach, no control should be necessary. See http://msue.anr.msu.edu/news/spotted_mediterranean_cockroaches for info on the Mediterranean spotted cockroach.
