I am a first time gardener.. Please tell me what you know about these darn pests and what we can do about them!
image 1 - Basil
All the next plants are in the same bed:
image 2 - lettuce that was doing well, and then flopped when we had torrential rains many days in a row, and now is growing back like you see... pretty much, not at all..
image 3 - yew! I found this near our oregano and I don't know what it is! I picked it up and put it under a glass. There were ants crawling all over it, and lots of the caterpillar (? looking?) thing that's also in the photo.
image 4 - More lettuce and a seemingly non-growing cucumber vine..
image 5 - zucchini vine soo slow growing and recently developed yellowing leaves.
We are in brooklyn, ny. We have created these large beds/containers - 7' long x 2' wide x 2+' deep
organic soil and practices.
we have large trees overhanging us so we don't get tons of light. A good 3/4 hours of solid direct light, and then each bed gets a few more hours of filtered-through-the-trees light..
