I found this insect when i was going to wash my hands, it was on the sink. Its length is maybe about 1cm. The black wall in the pic is my magnification glass. The insect can climb vertically. Apparently it has huge hind legs. I searched it in a book and the closest match to it is called Devil's Coach Horse. The book says that it is located in europe or africa while i'm living in indonesia. I used my phone to take a pic of it so no hd pics. Then i was going to take my camera but it already disappeared/escaped. Can anyone recognize it?
Anybody know this insect??
Unfortunately, your images are too blurry to make a positive i.d. - If it could jump, it could be a small relative of a grasshopper or cricket in the order Orthoptera; if it could niot, it likely is a true bug (order Hemiptera) of some kind. It is extremely unlikely to be a beetle, the order Coleoptera, to which the devil's coach horse belongs.
