CLOSED: What is this insect?

Found this in the house, think it's some kind of ant. Anyone know?

Wingless wasp in the family Mutillidae. Known as velvet ants, their sting packs a real wallop!

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Yup....down here we have the red velvet ant...or cow killer ant...it is said the sting is painful enough to kill a cow, but their venom is probably less toxic than a honeybee.
