I just bought one a couple months ago and I love it but my camera and I still have a round to go before we get pics perfect!
Anyway... I was checking on my screensaver one day and it had "my pictures" on there and I changed screensaver to them and it shows my pics I took of my yard this year... sometimes I just sit and look at my pretty flowers and pond and fish on the computer as some of the flowers have died and faded for this year and when I walk by the puter I see them and it helps brighten my day!
Just thought I would let you know if you had a digital camera that you could see your flowers as they once were!
Cheers,
Rebecca
Who owns a digital camera??????
Isn't it great being able to have those pictures instantly? One thing I found it's very helpful for is tracking what parts of my yard get sunlight at different times of day. I can just shoot different spots on the hour and at the end of the day I have a good idea of sun exposure in our beds. Best time to do this would be mid-summer when the days are long and it's after the leaves have all come in fully on any trees, of course! :o)
Gardenwife,
you are so right! I have a ton of pics I took and they are sooo different with changing of the light! My backyard is shady, excuse me was shady...my DH decided that old split oak tree was too heavy on the side toward the house and cut about 7 big limbs off, I almost cried, and it totally changed the whole atmosphere of my backyard and destroyed some of my plants in the process...needless to say though it had to be done!
I really liked that feeling of closeness of the limbs and shade, like you were absorbed in the nature of it...but it is safer for us! Plus now I will be able to plant some sun loving plants in back!
Oh well, things have to change...
Cheers,
Rebecca
yes but always remember to save your pictures to disk or you might loose them forever like i did. i had my whole summer documented from my baby chicks to my greenhouse the land clearing i am so bummed. but on a good note i still have my camera and a never ending supply of shots.

Rebecca, I like the idea of YOUR yard as a screen saver...send it to me...my yard would make my computer freeze up!!! LOL Jo
I have mine as screensaver too, and it is great, but had to upgrade to windows millenium before I could do it - I have about 50 pics on that site and they roam around the screen, it is toooooooooo coooooooool

Yes, Rebecca, I've seen your beautiful yard on your website and I don't think you need to add any "strangers" from Webshots to your screensaver. It's one of the most beautiful yards I've ever seen. I know you will miss your big Oak limb, but there are others, right!!
WEll, Rebecca...share your web site with us! Jo
Check sites like Tucows http:www.tucows.com and CNET's Download.com http://www.download.com - they are reputable download sites which have freeware and shareware apps which will let you make screensavers of your pictures. There's all kinds of goodies out there! Just make sure your antivirus data files are up-to-date and scan them after download. :o)
Hey Roadrunner,
I'm afraid I haven't had time this year to update with new pics and my backyard "WAS" so shady I didn't have an abundance of flowers...we have built twining cement walkways with river rocks and framed them with monkey grass and a 3 ponds.
I have pics of morning glories and moonflowers and sunflowers yet to post...like I said no time!
I am going to update soon...it is nothing fabulous but we have invested alot of work and hard work!!! But still have lots to do to fill in some places...
My gardening was delayed beginning in may for my son was invovled in a terrible accident and lost his wife, but he is doing good now!
I can't wait til next year...I have 10,000 seeds to plant and alot will be in my sunny front yard, I am going to make beds all over!!!
My husband is cursing, I said well "you won't have to cut as much grass" and then he thought about it and said okay! LOL...but he doesn't know how much work I have planned for the beds! They will have to be raised because we have alot of clay and rocks down here in Alabama...
Have I typed too much? On a roll I guess, here's the link

Hope you enjoy your visit!

I'm glad you told me where you lived...I couldn't tell by looking at your name, since it doesn't show your state, or your zone. I will look forward to seeing your "update". How tragic for your family to loose a member like that. I'm glad to hear your son is doing better. My husband is ill and I will have to learn how to do the gardening myself. I have a 6 yr old GS who likes to help...especially if he get to do the WATERING! Jo
Oh Rebecca - you don't have a back yard - you have a "back Garden". It's gorgeous, thanks for posting.
Thanks for the compliments yaw!!! More to come!
