I found this critter on my green bean plant yesterday. He doesn't move very fast. My son even picked him up, though i discouraged it, not knowing what it is. What appears to be gray in the picture, actually has a purple cast to it. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

It's a larva of a lady beetle, likely the Asian multi-colored lady beetle - http://www.insectsofwestvirginia.net/b/i-me5-harmonia.jpg
Thank you! I figured it was the larva of something and that was making it difficult to identify
