We've lived in this apartment in NJ since March and I've found this type of spider a few times on the ceiling or in the corner on the ceiling. They don't make a web of any kind and don't really move unless they fall to the ground. They then begin to move quite fast. The picture of it next to the penny is after it was sitting under a cup for a while and decided to curl up.
