Can anyone tell me what this is? We live in Houston (i.e. hot and humid) and for the past few summers the ceiling of our covered patio have been covered with these insects. They start off SUPER tiny (a few millimeters maybe) and are more translucent than the one in this picture. This pic is one of the larger ones and is maybe just over a centimeter long. The antennae are fuzzy which is why they look blurry in the picture. They kind of look like a small dragonfly to me but I never see them get much bigger than this and we don't have a problem with the larger dragonflies which I am more familiar with. Thanks for any help you can offer.
Insect identification - Help Please
Male Midge....vary in size and those are harmless.
They look nothing like dragonflies.
