I feel so lonley!! Does onyone else live here in the South West. I see some from Texas and California, but have yet to meet up with anyone from AZ..or NM. A lot of you don't show your hometown, or state on your name, so I don't have a clue. Wish everyone showed their "colors" as to locale! HELLO!!! ANYONE HOME??? Jo
Anyone else on DG from AZ..or NM??
Awww, don't feel lonely, Roadrunner! Offhand I don't know who's from the great southwest, but I'm sure there are some folks out there. I too wish everybody would be where they "hail from" (at least the state) on their info, but I guess some folks are more reserved than us, huh?
Oh, and I used to live about 15 miles north of the Colorado/NM border. Does that qualify?
Yes, go-vol...that must be right at "Four-Corners". We visited there a couple of years ago. Got there after dark...not knowing what to expect. NOT a place to spend the night near there (it is all Navajo land) and had to drive about 35 miles on into Cortez, CO to spend the night....then come back to Four Corners in the daylight. But atleast I stood in FOUR states at the same time, and had some good Fry Bread! I don't think people feel like they need to hide their state...well, maybe at first...when they first joined DG...might have been a little leery then...but now they just forget to go into their "preferences" and change it!! How about it? Are you comfy enough with this site to "show your self" yet? Jo
Roadrunner, actually my former residence was on the eastern side of Colorado - a tiny town called Trinidad. About 30 miles north of Raton, NM. But I've been to Four Corners, too and stood in four states simultaneously, which is pretty cool! Well, I probably wasn't standing so much as sprawling, "Twister game" style. Not a graceful pose!
I'n not exactly from the southwest but I do live in a small suburb on the south side of Colorado Springs. Is that close enough???
tink
Tinkerbell, do you have an abundance of Jack Rabbits and Mesquite?? Other than the trip to Four Corners and Cortez, have never traveled in Colorado...but would love too! Come on down and we'll see all of Cochise County...and maybe more! Jo
HI RR
I am from Albuquerque New Mexico,Born and raised but did travel alot as a small child to other states. But we always came back home in a month or so, my stepdad worked for Ralston Perunia building grian storage.
I also lived in Farmington NM for two years before my job took me to Washington state for two years.I treated the move as a vaction as I hated living there too wet and dank for me. I love to visit up there as it is so green and i have friends that live there.
I moved to Ohio 13 years ago and have no desire to ever move back to NM.I love to go back home and visit as the memories are good there but the cost of living is so low and jobs scarce.
Most of my family have left NM because of jobs.
Keep watching the photo forum i hope to get some of my pics from there up soon.
GO LOBO'S
Mike
Hi Mike, seems we have a lot in common. I love the S.W though. I like the dry climate. When I was a kid (during WW2) My Dad just closed up our house in WV, and we took the train to Washingston State. Lived in Port Orchard while he worked in the Shipyard in Bremerton. It was beautiful, but was so happy to go back to my friends in WV! DH and I have traveled through Albuquerque (whew...hard to spell)a few times, and Sami (DG) has a brother that lives there. Don't know the LOBO'S, but you might find me eating a pasel of "Crow" tonight on another thread!

JSS. I think I love PARTS of every where I've been, and lived...Virginia because they have Mountains, seashore and a lot of History. Florida for the nice winters, and lots of things to do there, Arizona, climate, change in terrian (went across White Mountains..once in the dark, went back to see what I missed...scared the Be-jevies out of me!!), and because my two DD, and 6 yr. old GS lives here. I love the Ozarks, San Antonio, Tenn is lovely, and West Virgina because it is HOME!! Ya'll come, hear?
