While taking pictures of the Brood II Magicicada hordes I came across this group of black spiked caterpillars on a tree leaf. They are very small. Anyone know what they are? Thanks! I live in Virginia, zone 6b.
What are these tiny spiked caterpillars?
Look like caterpillars of nymphalids or possibly buck moths, but cannot identify specifically at this stage...
