hey everyone,
i was turning a patch of soil on one side of our garden (as yet unplanted) and started pulling these larval looking bugs from the ground. their bodies are a translucent clear whitish color with an orangey head.they were burrowed several inches deep in the same pose you see pictured here with a strawberry for scale.
i poked around on a few websites and the closest i think i've come to identifying them is cutworm but i can't be sure since they didn't exqactly match what i was seeing. thanks in advance for the help.

thank you , pirl. do you have expeience with ridding your garden of them? do you happen to know in what quantities should their presence be considered a bona fide infestation?
i recall reading that garlic is an effective deterrent. i have garlic scapes in my garden and can move them to where i found the grubs if it will indeed help reduce the grub presence.
thank you again for your reply!

We've only used non-organic products to eliminate grubs. They destroy grass, vegetables, annuals and are a nuisance.
You might want to consult your local Cooperative Extension Service agent and ask their advice. You have quite a huge crop there!
Good luck.
