This guy is about 3 inches long on my Golden Sage. Does not move when touched, remains rigid. Can be wiggled back and forth like a stem, which I thought it was at first.
CLOSED: Mystery on my Golden Sage
Caterpillar of a moth in the family Geometridae. Commonly called loopers, inchworms, or spanworms, they lack prolegs on most abdominal segments and move in a characteristic 'looping' fashion and many (such as yours) are excellent twig mimics.
Again, thanks for the ID Flap! Only one on the plant, so Ill leave it alone
