I just went outside and it's been moist for a few days and I saw all these whit things on the ground when I realised they were caterpillars, dead ones. Among them were normal caterpillars and inch wormies but all the ones that were dead were almost turning into some sort of powder. Is this that moth virus or something else? I got some pictures but I'm posting on my phone in case someone knows just by a description. I'd love to know if I've discovered a phenomenon or if it is an actual thing that happens from chemicals or other insects infecting them.
(Attached a picture of one of the pictures haha sorry for quality)
What's going on with caterpillars?!
It is possibly a viral infection, but these usually result in a gooey/liquified dead caterpillar...
