We want to plant seven Hetzii columnaris junipers for screening, and I want to stagger them rather than plant in a straight line. The variety descriptions say they should be planted in a "tight row". The mature diameter (average) is 5'. How close should we plant them? Would 4' trunk-to-trunk be too loose?
Spacing for Hetzii columnaris junipers
Four feet on center (trunk to trunk) should be just fine for the purpose you describe.
Thanks so much Viburnum Valley. Now to just get them planted!
