This grasshopper was found on the step of our swiming pool. At firs it looked like it was being eaten from the rear by a big worm. Then we saw that the body was extended and had some rings of color. Did some poison due this or what.
What happened to this grasshoper
It looks to me as if it was mating with another of the same species and its mate has been eaten completely away by something, leaving just its abdomen still linked to its partner. No clue as to how the who;e grasshopper died,

Looks like it was almost bird food and did not survive the injury.
