Can you propagate most herbs from cuttings? I just recently brought home Thai Basil from an Oriental Store and I have some leftover stems of this basil and was wondering if you can just stick them in water until the roots form.
Herbs
Hi, Pearl:
I've generally had luck with some of the woodier plants from cuttings (such as rosemary), but I've occasionally gotten some basil cuttings rooted in water. Haven't specifically tried Thai basil, though. If you've got some extra stems, you've got nothing to lose. Keep us posted on how your experiment turns out.
