Can someone identify this fellow?

Looks like a young Jerusalem cricket. Stenopelmatus fuscus.

It's not even an insect; it's an arachnid known as a solfugid - http://www.texasento.net/Solifugids.htm
Ah ha! Thanks, Flap.
dday70, this is great, I didn't even know of the existence of these creatures. We have no Solifugids in BugFiles, so I have (aided by BugGuide.net) identified your creature as far as I can. It is one of the Straight-faced Solifugids in the family Eremobatidae. It is very like a male Eremocosta striata: http://bugguide.net/node/view/631790/bgpage
but there are other species in that genus, so I suggest we call it Eremocosta sp.
I have created a page for Eremocosta sp. in BugFiles here: http://davesgarden.com/guides/bf/go/7016/
We would greatly appreciate it if you would add your image of this fascinating creature to that page,
Ken
