Who is the DGer that fought Squash Bugs with a vacuum? Lol
shredded leaves for top dressing
And took GREAT delight in sucking them up...
I'm the one who almost set my yard on fire by burning their butts with a Bic Fireplace lighter...
Ha HA!
I saw something weird at Sam's today. It was a spray on "glue" to make mulch/pebbles more stable and less resistant to blow/get washed away. I have no idea how environmentally friendly or biodegradable it is, but reading this thread made me think it would be great to have the leaves stay where you put them.
Just wanted to share my tip for shredding leaves - I don't have many leaves so this is only practical for small jobs. I use a large trash can, metal or rigid plastic, fill it half full of leaves. Put on my safety goggles (very important.) Then, stick the weedeater in the trash can and let 'er rip. It doesn't take long and it does a great job.
Thanks, Nia3. I have heard this before, but had forgotten about it. Good reminder.
That would work to help brake them down. LOL!
