Please help me identify this bug?

I found this bug on my bed. I have no idea where its coming from. They pop out of no where. They are attracted to light. They are very small. No bigger than my finger nail. Are they harmful?

Im from Queens, New York if that helps.

This is a male ant, possibly a carpenter ant (Camponotus sp.).
