Several hawks & one eagle at the farm today....redtail is nesting in one of Garret's big pines.....
Northeast birds pt 2
I've been checking those Cornell links when I think of it. Very neat. The heron mother sometimes stand up revealing a nest of eggs.
No Hummers yet. But expect them any time now
I see a few Hawks here and Turkey Vultures a lot. The only other large bird is Crows.
Plenty of songbirds and Cardinals and Robins, all breeding and nesting now.The territorial disputes are exciting to watch.
Chicks are wonderful...so chipper! I saw 20 species of birds yesterday, but only one warbler....a yellow. In today's paper the nature column had a photo of a rare hooded warbler, seen at Hammonasset last Sunday....oh, sure, never around when I'm there!
Warblers arent usually here until mid May.Couple more weeks and I willhear them in the tall trees.
I'm hearing some in my yard, but can't find the little devils!
two pairs of blue birds have moved in here - love them
Lucky you.Its always great to see them.
Yes, I have a mocker! Hope he moves on.....
Hummers arrived Saturday no photos yet. have not seen them since.
Have a great evening,
John
Have not seen one hummer yet, but I rarely see them until I plant my salvia....
I've seen the male and female but they have been gone for a few days now.
I've only seen them here towards the end of summer around the hosta flowers and the rose of sharon
No bummers here yet. Will put out feeder soon.
Hope you don't get any bummers....hummers would be nice, though....

Good one RD! Sorry Victor but that was funny...
Hee Hee! Just noticed.
I walked over the dam today instead of behind it, & had a "Kodak" moment......our raven, Mr. Nasty, was chasing an eagle downriver, so close to me I could have grabbed them....did I have my camera? Noooo, only my binoculars which I didn't need!
