I know we've all been thinking about you Button!
SPECIAL EDITION Snow Day Chat March 2013
Yes Judy...been thinking about you wondering how you're doing...good to see you posting.
Ctazy day - so most pics are in camera still till tomorrow night...but here's Miss Chloe and her snowman and Carlee with the 'look' that clearly states she's not amused by the weather. Gounty Govt was even closed today...waaawhooo got to stay home!!
Thanks for checking in, Button!
We had planned to be at the Philly Flower Show yesterday and today, but cancelled the plan... still a good call with bad roads here and there, but I was looking forward to the "silver lining" of a beautiful snowy day. What a bust. Rain and slush, mostly, although we did get a few inches of white in the morning, enough for Joyanna and her "big sister" down the street to try sledding on... they came back in 20 minutes after 3 runs down the local hill, sopping wet.
I did get the rest of my amaryllises potted, finally... have to check around the basement for stragglers.
Glad to hear the snowfall has not been as bad as it could have been except at Ruby's.
Ditto to what coleup posted about the plant swap at my place May 18. So very excited!! Since I am in Oregon til the end of the month I will wait to start a thread in April.
So glad to see you button and pray you heal quickly!

Just a quick little check-in from farther South. It snowed all day here yesterday, but it was the big fat wet stuff that just melted as soon as it hit the ground. Nothing but wet. DH had figured it would be worse in DC (where he works) so he stayed home yesterday and we got the rest of the kitchen renovation work done!! (we work harder here at home than we do at work, I tell ya's!) Microwave is above the range and all the cabinets are in now, yippee, no more clutter! =)
Yay for snow days!!!
Thanks for checking in every one! By now much of our snowfall has melted and the winds moved on further up the coast.
Becky and Speedie great success with that free day! What a good feeling to get big chunks of our to do lists to the ta done! Just what is 'knackered' Becky? Is that a Nordic term?
Saw this video today about the inner panic that besets us when a storm is on the way

Hopefully we remember to put on our seat belts before setting out or tie a rope around our waists so we can get back from the edge!
Have you all checked out the incredible snow flake photos here?

Thank you for putting up this thread. I think it was a great way for all of us to share our day of waiting. I am still waiting. We dodged that bullet big time. The wind here is still about 30 mph but nothing like yesterday with those gusts. They are now calling for more snow, but no storm, tomorrow. It is cloudy here today and the temperature is 44deg. The NJ shore took a hit again with the wind and flooding again. Seems like Mother Nature is really angry with us. Pray for all of those who are still trying to recover from Sandy and took another hit yesterday.
See you on the other threads. Thanks again. JB
I agree JB it was a great thread & fun way to spend a snowy day.
Hello from SW Virginia. We have very cold temps (30) and very windy making it 14 or so. No snow just dusting. I've had all I can take of this crap and I mean business lol.
Tulips and daffs are coming up after we received a few 57 degree days. I've cut clematis and roses (what roses I have left).
Looking forward to a list for coleus! I had some that did great overwintering and it was my first year doing so. Religious Radish (I believe) did great and maybe Saturn - not sure of the name.
Temps will be hear 60 this weekend.
Kathy
Just in case anyone gives a hoot. IT IS SNOWING LIKE A BLIZZARD HERE AT THE FARM AS I WRITE THIS. It started early and we now have several inches and it is blowing sideways and shows little or no signs of stopping. Temp is 30 deg.
Just for the record. I am not a happy camper. ☺ JB
I have spent part of the morning looking at spring flowers online....I wouldn't be very happy to look out the window and see that mess either! As it is; we have snow-dust blowing around like that. I can't wait for spring!
They said on Radio, early this morning, that Philly already had 2" of snow....
A nasty, new development for those going to the Graden Show...
Here--as I write this--it is a bright, sunny day. Said it would get to near 60* Saturday.
Life's NOT fare--JB--sorry you have more snow to deal with! Have some hot Chocolate! !
To cheer you up--maybe by tomorrow morning--
I will have a new-blooming 2yr. old CC picture to show you.
Here's the bud.....it is still opening..... Pale, pale pink--with a bit of white.....
SURPRISE, totally did not expect to see snow this morn
Good thing hubby works for himself, he brought the kids to school and is working from home today
about 3" and still coming down
Flow, that was a bit of a shock. Went into New Egypt to chiropractor (daughter took me) this morning and Ocean County has just as much as Burlington Co. has and it is still coming down. Flakes are smaller but they are blowing sideways just like a stupid blizzard. Deck has what looks to be about 5 inches but it is hard to tell with the way the wind is blowing it. So much for Spring but after lunch they said it will stop and the temp will be going up to the 50s. Hang in there baby.......it can not last too much longer. JB
Here are some links to discussions of how this storm's forecasts are so far "off" on almost all counts.

Thanks coleup. It is still snowing here.
snow stopped it's now raining
yahoo.......................it stopped here too.
When I talked to Jeff a little while ago he said the was about a tenth of an inch and lots of wind.
SUN IS SHINING, WIND IS VERY SLIGHT, THE SNOW IS MELTING AND I AM DOING A HAPPY DANCE! This thread has been a God Send for me. Thanks to all of you for keeping me from completely loosing it. ♥♥♥
Hard to believe we were in the midst of possible heavy snow just 3 days ago... and today is sunny and the temp might reach 60º!
It's a gorgeous morning here too!
A very good portion of the deep snow is melting today. I am surprised by how fast it is disappearing today. That is a good thing though. Had enough for a while.
I agree, this is a great thread. Good to see so many of my favorite folks checking in. So glad that most weren't affected by the storm. Hope the weekend is a wonderful one for all.
Ruby
Looking at todays sun- it is hard to think that big Snow day forecast was three days ago!
Ruby, I think you may have been the hardest hit of us all.
The snow here in Lucketts stopped mid-day on Wednesday, and was mostly melted by Thursday. On Friday, Jill and I drove up to Philly for the Flower Show - weather was bleak, cold and windy, with occasional snow flurries. It was such a contrast to be inside the convention center with all the dipslays of everything in bloom. Today the weather was beautiful. So strange how fast the weather changes from one day to the next. Ruby, glad your snow seems to be melting away quickly too. I think we are all ready for spring sunshine.
Terri, Did you get one of those CobraHead Weeders? Ric did. LOL
No, I missed it - got a new set of Florian ratchet pruners though...
Yep, I did, too. LOL Today is the Orchid Show. Going to find me a new orchid......or two.
