Kitt, is that columbine? Got any seed or volunteers?
I want if available!
That is an (east coast ) common evening primrose... I will send my gleanings to you experts, but I am not sure if the seeds matured enough after I collected em. You can split it, and if I aam back to east coast, I will collect more of em if there weren't enough...id'd by Josephine

Hi carey, sorry about your bulbs. Maybe the second year they double????
Holly,
I'll gladly take some yellow daffodils! As many as you want to give away! I was staring out my kitchen window today thinking how nice a bed of some yellow flowers would look under the tree!
Linda
Marty,
The tree gets bright lite filtering thru it. But, I think I may need a compact, smaller plant underneath.
Oh, well. I tried.
If the daisy doesnt get higher than 2-3', I think it would work. I:d love bloom til December!
This photo was taken in November or December 2011. The height of the bench back is 34" so you can judge by that. The bees just love this plant and Ive never had a plant give so much for so little. I thought I would get volunteers but I did not so I did not have any in 2012. This year I sowed seed indoors and I have 4 plants that germinated so far.
I will happily bring you some Daffodil bulbs! I can dig up some 4-nerve daisies too - they are already blooming and keep going allllll summer long and usual into late fall/winter. :)
Marty,
The daisy plant will work! You don't have to trug it all the way to Hempstead, either. Just lmk when I can come pick it up. I'm doing some major planting this weekend, and could add it to the lineup!
Careyana,
I'd love all the bulbs and the nervene daisy plant!
Careyana,
I've been researching the 4 nerve daisy, and it sounds like just what I need to put in a 12" wide strip that runs alongside my garage. The rounded tufts will fit perfectly in the strip, and the yellow stems will get full sunshine there. The rain gutter empties on one end, so they will have a built-in watering system!
Can't wait to have these bloom for such a long time. The comments I read said some people with snow still had yellow blooms peeping through!
Linda
