This is a seedling from my daughters yard. It is close to a Cedar tree so assuming that is what it is . Can anyone give me a positive identification on it. Thank you much!

Certainly not a cedar.

Nor a Juniperus virginiana...which isn't a cedar either.
I agree that it strongly resembles an Artemisia sp.
This might sound totally weird but it reminds me of Coreopsis gigantea.

Having a relative rarity and oddity like Coreopsis gigantea come up unbeknownst to the gardener would be extremely unlikely in most areas though...
I guess what I was trying to say is that I don't believe it is a tree or shrub. Reminds me more of Margarite-type plant.
