wow - starting those cukes inside really helps - wonder if I have any yet, have been in salt lake all week for work, will be checking them tomorrow!

Southeastern, NH(Zone 5b)

I'm planning to pick my first tomorrow. I'm looking forward to using it in a salad. Hopefully it tastes as good as it looks! :)
JB I am worried the same would happen here if any one besides me weeded. Although now that the plants are quite mature i hope DH would be able to tell the difference! lol

Thomaston, CT

Yum, cukes look good....I have some blossoms, that's it.

(Ronnie), PA(Zone 6b)

I had a beautiful cuke that was to be todays lunch, picked it yesterday and sat it on the porch step...forgot about it...found it this morning on the lawn with lots of Winston teeth marks in it...

Thomaston, CT

No! Winston is quite a guy...still a baby, really......

(Ronnie), PA(Zone 6b)

Yeah he thinks anything not battoned down is his toy for the taking!

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

just flowers here for cukes too - bush beans are going in bushels

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Thats too bad Ronnie. Cyrus would try them too if I left it. :)

Did I mention what a great year for berries it has been so far? Blueberries are coming along, picked a qt. already. Raspberries are almost gone by, black-raspberries are ripening now. ^_^

Hubby killed a volunteer pumpkin, thought it was a weed, but left the velvet leaf weeds, UGH

Picked one of the biggest cherry tomatoes I've ever seen

(Pam) Warren, CT(Zone 5b)

Yesterday picked the first cukes. Beans are climbing, lettuce bolting, squash almost ready, tomatoes nearly the right size but still very green...

a deer ate a bunch of bush bean leaves yesterday - made it easier to pick the beans - hung out an old pair of sneakers - hope they keep them away

Thomaston, CT

My son has had JB eating his bean leaves.....they are bad this year, but so are the deer!

Huron, OH(Zone 5b)

I have 4 more cukes to pick

(Pam) Warren, CT(Zone 5b)

I got 6 cukes today, 3 sugar snack tomatoes, a small bunch of French filet beans, 2 Ronde de Nice (round) squash, could have harvested 1 beet. Not exactly a feast... But much more is coming soon!!!

Thomaston, CT

I picked beans, 3 tomatoes, 3 cukes....never had such a late & miserly garden!

(Pam) Warren, CT(Zone 5b)

It is reeeeaaaally late, isn't it? I keep forgetting how awful the spring was. I keep thinking it's because I got so behind, but that's what caused it!

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

picked t's, peppers, cukes, squash, and bush beans today

Huron, OH(Zone 5b)

picked 3 cukes, 3 more to pick.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Last week I picked 61 cukes, on Friday my 2 oldest DGD came and helped me pick more. We picked 52, last night I went out again as Auntie asked if I had any for her to make pickles with. I picked 63 more!!!!

Thomaston, CT

Whoa! Sounds like Garret's garden.....I made a batch of dills from just a fraction of what he picked...he told me last night to come & get more.....

Fairfield County, CT(Zone 6b)

One beet and a little swiss chard and mystery squash. The cucumbers are bitter this year - I might just rip them out and save the water. Picked black currants, elderberries, blackberries, raspberries and a blue berry yesterday.

Huron, OH(Zone 5b)

toms are getting big and still green hoping they ripen soon.

Memory, did you plant picklers? They usually aren't bitter....Jumper, glad your toms are getting bigger....small crop for me this year......

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

Made some bread and butter pickles today. Never made them before. Only a small batch. Pretty good. Not enough to can, just enough to keep in the frig. Used 5 cukes.

The cukes and watermelon plants were left here at the swap at my house in May. Thank you whoever left them.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

My mom used to make tons of bread and butter pickles
