Kicking off the thread for this month...
Phlox, four nerve daisy, vernal witch hazel, spring bouquet viburnum and contorted filbert. That last one isn't really blooming but this is its best time of year so I thought it deserved a picture.
February blooms
Funny, when I viewed this post on my iPhone it rotated the photos properly but it doesn't do it on my laptop browser...
DFWDennis-That happens with some of my photos too! I've tried everything. They look correct until I post them & they upload sideways.
Way to go guys! It's always nice to see something blooming in February.
I got some paper whites at the last spring RU but they only put up leaves. I miss my daffs. and tulips. Haven't really found any early spring replacements that will grow and thrive in TX heat.
Things are really looking good, Marty! My Zexmenia looks dead! LOL It's not, because it goes dormant here during the winter. You know that the Mexican Mint Marigold reseeds like crazy, right??
My paper whites did not bloom this year. Im wondering why. They usually bloom in January.
Bees will love your broccoli blooms
I was working out in the veggie garden this afternoon and the bees were all over the broc blooms! We even had a big, fat bumblebee show up. Lots of butterflies, too.
cute ice plant Cheryl.
Stephanie, what variety of broccoli are you growing?
Dr Thor, do your daffodils share space with something that blooms later or do they have their own space?
steadycam3
yes, my daffodils share space with other plants.
In fact my soil is full of stuff; I am a "squeezer" gardener.
Daffodils come up, after irises ... near by daylilies and liliums, and the perennials will cover the spend leaves until next year.
I did have and still have a big problem losing my roses to Rose Rosette Disease ... so I will have some more room this spring to divide my daylilies ...
The pictures in attachment are from last year, taken on February 3rd 2012. It was an exceptional warm winter and everything was so earlier ...
Pretty and a little different from the ice plants we have.
Very neat Cheryl.
I believe those are narcissus. Jonquils are smaller and all yellow.
Yes narcissus. sorry. hustling is hard on my recollections. Redbud are blooming here in the south
Kitt, Ive always been absent-minded, even as a kid, but this aging thing Ive contracted (chuckle) is making it a lot worse. I was able to tell you about the narcissus that day but next week, I might not be able to remember the word at the moment even if you paid me. So frustrating. I think I get some practice remembering things here on DG. It is definitely a stimulating place to be. Thanks to all of you.
Amen to that! Exactly the issue that plagues me. doesnt help having too many distractions slap you at the same time either!
My absent-mindedness is caused by my thyroid problems. :( I hate it!!
Um for #4 SC you mean cosmos, right?
Cheryl, what?
That Magnolia goes by a lot of names, some call it saucer magnolia, the scientific name is magnolia soulangiana

Oh my goodness; so much stuff is BLOOMING! Back East people are proud about a few snowdrops in February! Especially that rosemary! I just kill rosemary. I never think about it blooming. My goodness!!!!
