Yes I do love it but it is now fall here getting ready for winter :( it just comes and goes too soon!
Yesm, Gardengal, spring is my favorite time of year, and winter my least favorite although it can be beautiful with bright sun on snow. Nothing grows here in the winter and the ground freezes, compost piles don't even do anything but sit and wait for spring. In spring there is all kinds of activity and new life. I love it when I can finally get outside and grow something!
In my old age, I have come to appreciate the slowing down of this time of year. It's a good time to survey the gardens in their undies, to see their bones and plan what and how to flesh out next year. There is little pressure to weed and till and water, so you can dare to walk out there with a cup of coffee and just look, not yield to temptation to pull weeds or trim edges. For a time, you have your turf to yourself, without having to reclaim it from the mosquitoes and aphids and gnats. You can sit on the bench without feeling guilty for not working. Spring is like a young child, rushing to embrace all of life, tumbling helter skelter over all boundaries. Fall is like the grandmother who has embraced much of life already, and now reaps her reward in the richness of less.
Aimee, that is a beautiful description of the seasons. I love it.
Joan
Aimee, Do you write poetry? If not, you should, that was beautiful.
Pam
Here! Here! I loved it.
How do you write a cyber blush? Thanks, you all made me feel so good. I did write poetry many years ago, but like this, it actually just wrote itself, and I would feel an overwhelming urge to pen it. So I feel like a conduit. I read the above posts, and started thinking how I felt, then realized I had come far from one who began feeling depressed at the first fallen leaf and didn't recover until some spring day when I would suddenly feel that kind of warmth that only a spring day can bring. That feeling doesn't develop anymore, and I was exploring "why" and typing what I heard. I developed a little amateur website and was planning to capture some of those mental side trips there before I was sick. Maybe I will yet! Again, thanks, I feel like someone who just discovered she can be natural here.
Be sure and let us know if you get that website going. I'm sure some of us would like to take those mental side trips with you. Pam
Pam, the remnants of it are still up, simply because I haven't gotten around to moving or updating it, but some has somehow changed and fallen off. Netscape is discontinuing this freebie in favor of something else this month, which I'm sure will be less acceptable in one way or another, so I have to copy it to the new arrangement or let it go. You can go there, I think, at http://sites.netscape.net/gardengrace1/homepage. I'll try to go there now, and if it's different will let you know. I would love for you to visit.
I can't figure out why this one won't work, but I tried the one on my next post and it did. Trying again:

Tried to go there Aimee, but it wouldn't work. Our loss! Pam
Aimee....you are a writer...you should work on a book...I loved your writing....I was mesmerized......(sp?) I just loved what you wrote....BEAUTIFUL, and it just pulls you in....thanks so much.
I can't believe this! Which writing did that, Kelly? My daughter-in-law should be here to read this, she has nagged about a book for years. Bought me a box of 50 disks and told me I had no further excuse. But I honestly don't know what she wants or how to produce it. Thank you for such great praise, I'll try to figure it out and do it for her.
Pam, I went to the site, and it's still there, so if the link doesn't work, I must have hit a wrong key and just can't see it. Here it is again, please let me know if it works. http://sites.netscape.net/gardengrace1/homepage
Aimee, I write rhymes and ditties but you write with the soul of a poet!
Zany, it would never have occurred to me to say "soul of a poet", which I think is a lovely phrase. Your compliment is a gift for me to treasure.
I wish I had thought about the soul of a poet. Aimee that site is wonderful. That must be time consuming. You must be one really organized person to keep all those thoughts flowing. I'll have to visit that site again. It was really enjoyable.
Jim, thanks! Actually, I developed it as a means of trying to learn code, because my genius daughter, who lives and breathes computers and makes her living as a web developer for a large company, insisted I should do it. My other daughter gave me a computer her husband's business was discarding, and I had to justify it. Netscape made it easy, and I just used their image library and the program they had for these things. I just arranged things and inserted some thoughts. Later, I bought a domain and thought about doing a web site for gardeners, as you can see by the progression, but by the time I could have done it, Dave did this one, and I took the path of least resistance. And he is so good at it, I knew I didn't need to supplement. If my brain overcomes the effects of chemo and other meds, I hope to build a site for people who are hurting. Sometimes I feel so strongly that I just want to give them all a great big hug, because there is so much pain and loneliness in the world. The internet is the way to do that across the miles, I think. I appreciate your visit, as I am about to have to move it and not sure how Netscape will accomplish that. They notified me they have decided to move on and eliminate this feature.
