Crescent City gardening

I know someone that is seriously thinking of moving to Crescent City, CA. Anybody out that way have any helpful info about life and gardening in the area? I hear it rains a lot but the temperatures are very pleasant.

Given where Crescent City is in California, you might post in the Pacific Northwest forum too. It's far enough north that I think the weather there will probably be more similar to the coastal PNW than it is to most of California.

The weather forcasters in So. Cal give the reports for LA metro & Orange County, the beaches, the low deserts, the high desert, and the mountains. Anything north of Santa Barbara or south of OC is out of range. I imagine it's similar in central Ca. and San Diego county. Our weather patterns are sooo diverse in Ca. If you go to Sunset Western Garden.com, you can put in a zip code and get an idea about climate in that area.
