I found a dozen or so of these orange worms in the soil of a pot i was emptying out. Most of them were a little over an inch long (2.5 cm) i would say without having measured them. They were mostly in the soil between the bottom of the pot and mid-way up. I've never come across these worms before and would very much appreciate an ID.
CLOSED: Worm ID?
Appears to be a larva of a click beetle. Sometimes called wireworms, some species can damage plant roots and tubers.
Thank you Flapdoodle! Whew...i guess this is not so good, but better than an armyworm so this news is not good, but better than i thought it would be. Additionally i have learned about Click Beetles. Happy New Year.
