While clearing fall debris from my garden I uncovered this. Coloration was such that I that it wasn't real - until I touched it and it moved. About 1 inch long.
I thought it was a fishing lure-then it moved.
Looks like a caterpillar in the prepupal stage; could be a noctuid or notodontid; image not sufficient for identification.
