Home alone for Christmas

I can tell that Larry is missing his family in Iowa, and is feeling badly about not seeing them this year.. I cannot go... and the reason is that my Sciatica gives me so much pain when I ride in a car that it is nearly unbearable without taking a double dose ( or triple) of Loratabs...and a 10 hour ride would be an ordeal for both of us..

So... I went in to the computer room and told him that he should make his doctor appt. in St. Louis for maybe the week before Christmas.. and then go on to Iowa and spend Christmas with his kids...(St Louis is about half way ) that way I will stay at home and take care of the girls.. and we can have our Christmas when he gets back home..
He just looked at me and started to say NO.. but I put my hand over his mouth and told him to think about it for a few days... before he made a firm decision..

There is no way I could go without being totally stoned on Loratabs... and that wouldn't be any fun.. and besides we would need a house / critter sitter..

Please pray that he says yes.. and goes to see his kids.. they miss him so much but they work and it is difficult to pack up the car with kids, etc. and drive down ... only to turn around and go right back.. He would have more time with each of them that way.. and no rushing around..

Awe Carolyn!! What a beautiful gift you are giving Larry. The oppertunity to see his kids and stay home with the girls...My you have such a beautiful giving heart.
For you my friend. I will keep his decision in my prayers.

And as for you, YOU'LL not be alone...we will be here with you! Hey well have a cyber christmas party! Lol...you can bring the venison!!

As it turns out.. Larry is not going to Iowa.. he is staying home.. and some of his local kin are coming for Christmas.. and my daughter may come.. but I am not going to h old my breath on that one.. lol.. Larry says we can maybe go next year..

Carolyn, what a loving gesture..shows how much you care for Larry. Am sure he's torn between you and visiting the family.Christmas is but a day, am sure that you can arrange a Christmas In July or such to make up for his wanting and deciding to stay with you..am sure that will be his choice!

There you go, just knew he would be kissing you under the mistle toe and right I was..

Betty, you were within 25 miles of my home !! We live South of Loretta Lynn's place there in Hurricane Mills, TN..

We are planning on going to his daughter's wedding in October next year even if I have to fly and he drives... but we ARE going.. LOL The kids call often, and I am hoping maybe in february.. we can go.. maybe my Sciatica won't be as bad then..

Had breakfast at Loretta Lynn Cafe and then went down to visit the dude ranch..impressive estate..grounds for camping are great ..much to do!

Maybe sciatic nerve will be under control and yes, flying for you would be an option!

Loretta has lots of activities all the time.. concerts are our favorite.. and we go up there oft en since it is so close to home.. My girlfriend works for her part time in her home.. and lets us in on some of the doing ahead of time..

We are only an hour away from Nashville and so we love to go to the Ryman Auditorium on occasion.. lots of funs stuff around these parts.. and I adore living way out in the country.

Well next time I venture out that way again, perhaps we can meet up!!
