I have both the white and blue forms of gentian so I thought I would try them for my first winter sowing attempt. I got nothing from either type. I understand they can be diificult to germinate. Has anyone successfully wintersowed either the white or blue form?
Thanks
Anyone have success winter sowing gentian seeds?
Gentian verna has been sowed direct onto flower bed.
Do not know if they will germinate or not.
The directions said they would germinate in spring no matter when they were sown.
Will let you know in spring how it turns out.
Please do. I am going to try it again this winter. Let's compare notes in the spring.
I did not see any evidence of these plants.
I do not know what happened? birds or critters got seeds???
Should have done them in milk jugs!
