is it a honey bee or a wasp ?
found in Ewing, NJ

I think it is an eastern carpenter bee - Xylocopa virginica

thank you greenthumb99 for your input.
i visited wikipedia link and found similar pics.
one thing i noticed was that the whereas wikipedia show a large white area, mine displays large yellow area. don't know if it makes a difference for ID.
can you enlighten more please ?
