some kind of fly.
this one look like a small mantis to me. but not sure.
found in Ewing, NJ

It's a robber fly (family Asilidae). They are general predators on other small arthropods.

Your robber fly looks like it could be in the genus Diogmites. These particular robber flies are known as hanging thieves as they tend to hang by a leg or two while consuming prey.

i visited the site you suggested.
it has many pics to say it is a robber fly of Diogmites genus.
